I've been dealing with a summer cold and some serious allergies for a few weeks now, while simultaneously working myself to death.
I was more than ready for a spa day.
However, paying spa day prices aren't in the cards for me right now. My solution: At home spa evening with my mini me.
My daughter loves spa night. We put on fluffy robes, eat chocolate, and use all-natural scrubs and lotions to treat ourselves. Her favorite is the lemon coconut sugar scrub I make. It's perfect when you find yourself needing a little extra pampering and has a fragrance that is sunny and bright, great for the summertime! Here's a simplified version containing ingredients many of you will already have in your cupboard.
You will need the following ingredients:
- 2 Cups Granulated White Sugar (Turbinado Sugar works even better if you have it)
- 1/3 Cup Unrefined Coconut Oil
- 4-5 drops Organic Lemon Essential Oil
Now all you have to do is mix it all together, working the coconut oil into the sugar, and adding the essential oils as you blend.
Scoop the mixture into a small mason jar and store covered at room temperature in a cabinet or other dark place.
To use, simply scoop out about a tablespoon sized amount and massage gently into damp skin. Rinse away with warm water and pat dry with a towel.
Sooooo decadent and sure to leave you feeling relaxed!
Don't feel like making it yourself? Be sure to pick yourself up some of the fancy version over in the shop http://www.queencityalchemy.com/shop/organic-lemon-coconut-sugar-scrub-4oz
